Nerissa is the first former Guardian that I've drawn but the last one that I'd colored. At first, I wanted to change her Guardian outfit because it doesn't have a two pieces style like the others. But thank goodness, my partner, LoopyLor, convinced me to keep it the way it was design originally because the one piece makes her look unique and different from any of the other Guardians.
As a girl, Nerissa was a musician and composed a flute song called, "Nerissa's Trill" which she used to attack the WITCH girls in their dreams. Before Will, Nerissa was the Keeper of the Heart of Kandrakar but grew obsessed with its powers. The Oracle saw that she was not longer fit to be its Keeper so he took it away and gave it to Cassidy. Blinded by jealousy, Nerissa lured Cassidy into a trap and did away with her. As punishment, Nerissa was locked away in Mount Thanos for all eternity until the day when five elements reside in one person, Caleb. Nerissa returned in the second saga of the WITCH comic series to get her hands on the Heart again and for revenge against Kandrakar.
In our CHYKN comic special, we'll tell the story of Nerissa and her friends before she betrayed them and before she was corrupted by the power of the Heart.
